Mini bio

How it started.

Growing up in Mumbai, Neha loved food and the cookbooks on the family shelf. In a Slurrp interview, Neha remembered reading Tarla Dalal books and being encouraged by a mother who enjoyed trying new dishes. That interest led to studying food technology and working in the food industry.

The MasterChef years.

Neha worked as a flavourist at International Flavours and Fragrances in Gurgaon before the MasterChef breakthrough. Colleagues who tasted the cooking encouraged another attempt at the show. After reaching the top 24 in season 2 and missing out in season 3, Neha returned for season 4 and finished as first runner-up in 2015.

From television to home kitchens.

A self-taught cook, Neha went on to co-found Meraaki Kitchen and Cafe White Sage in Jaipur. Online, the focus is vegetarian food with practical, step-by-step guidance. The official YouTube channel ranges from getting rice right to more elaborate meals, with regular cooking tips called Vishesh Tippanis.
