How it started.
Paola launched Blank Itinerary in May 2014 while between jobs after an employer relocated. They approached the blog as a business from the beginning, preparing enough material to publish regularly. Writing in English and Spanish helped connect the project with audiences across cultures.
Finding an audience.
Born in San Diego to Mexican parents, Paola made fashion, travel and everyday life the core of Blank Itinerary. In a 2017 Forbes interview, they credited consistency, quality and bilingual content with helping the audience grow. Signing with an agency in July 2014 also brought early guidance.
From outfits to collections.
In 2019, Paola co-designed the inaugural collection for Amazon Fashion’s The Drop. The capsule included pink suiting and mix-and-match summer pieces. In 2026, they became creative director of Ellaz and presented a first spring/summer collection focused on versatile clothes.
Keeping the conversation going.
Paola introduced a Substack in March 2025 as a return to Blank Itinerary’s blogging roots. The newsletter brings together outfit edits, packing ideas, shopping finds and personal reflections.
