Mini bio

How it started.

Parth is a physics master’s graduate from the University of Cambridge. His early teaching videos include a 2018 guide to the Schrödinger equation, breaking down what a complicated-looking equation says about the world of atoms and smaller particles.

Making the maths approachable.

His channel explores the meaning behind physics equations, from classical mechanics to quantum theory and relativity. His 2021 Lagrangian mechanics explainer is one widely watched example, with more than 500,000 views at the time of research. He walks through a mass-and-spring system before explaining why an energy-based approach can help with more complicated problems.

Another side of Parth.

He also makes music as PARTH. In an August 2024 channel update, he said he had been working on original music and taking time to revisit physics concepts so his videos stayed useful. His debut EP is Rookie Mistake, and his 2026 releases on YouTube include a live playthrough of “Bright Lights” and the “Hustle Vulture” music video.

Keeping the door open.

His teaching also tackles the language around science. In his 2025 video on terminology, he asks science communicators to explain words clearly and recognise that people outside science may use them differently.

In January 2025, he explained why scientific terms can confuse people who use the same words differently in everyday life.

Trivia

  1. He took lessons in tabla and says he taught himself the other instruments used in his tabla-and-guitar fusion video.
  2. His 2023 live-looping fusion video combines tabla, guitar, bass and vocals, drawing on Indian classical music and heavy metal.
  3. In his 2024 channel update, he included a music taster alongside an explanation of his break from physics uploads.
