Mini bio

How it started.

Paul trained as a sculptor before his father persuaded him to join the family bakery. He later became head baker at hotels including Cliveden, The Chester Grosvenor and The Dorchester.

Finding his audience.

Early television work included Taste with James Martin. Bake Off became his breakthrough: he has judged the competition since its first series in 2010 and continued when it moved to Channel 4.

Recipes to take home.

His cookbooks give fans a way to bake alongside him. BAKE gathers his versions of classics, while Celebrate brings together sweet and savoury bakes for special occasions throughout the year.
