Mini bio
A city girl finds the country.
Ree attended college in California and worked in the city before meeting Ladd during a visit to her hometown. Falling in love with a cattle rancher brought her to a working Oklahoma ranch, where cooking, photography, and family life became the material for her writing.
The blog that opened the door.
In 2006, she began Confessions of a Pioneer Woman, sharing ranch stories and recipes. Her conversational writing and photographs found an audience, and the site won Weblog of the Year at the 2009 Bloggies. That year she also published her first cookbook, The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Recipes from an Accidental Country Girl.
From the screen to the kitchen shelf.
