Robert brought a working makeup artist’s perspective to online beauty. In Brushed Up, Robert recalls working in beauty retail and noticing how a manager’s changing eyebrow shape could alter the mood of an entire face. That interest in the details carries into tutorials about products and application.
Finding an audience.
The YouTube channel was created in May 2015. By an August 2021 interview with Kelly Driscoll, Robert had more than 870,000 subscribers. Practical tutorials, product testing and challenges to online beauty trends became recurring parts of the work. In 2022, Robert won Beauty Creator of the Year at the Blogosphere Awards.
