Mini bio
How it started.
Sajjad grew up in Karachi and trained in classical music with his uncle Tassaduq Hussain. His recording career began with Master Sajjad Sings Memorable Classics in 1979, while he was still a child.
The pop breakthrough.
“Babia” brought him a wider pop audience in 1993. It began with a family request: his mother wanted to hear an Arabic song in Punjabi. “Bolo Bolo,” “Chief Saab,” “Cinderella” and “Paniyon Mein” became other familiar parts of his catalogue.
Songs that travel.
For “Ravi,” Sajjad wrote and composed a song dedicated to people living away from home. His Coke Studio work includes singing and music direction on “Ronay Na Diya” with his daughter Zaw Ali, and the 2024 duet “Chal Chaliye” with Farheen Raza Jaffry.
Still making music.
His official channel continues to bring fans new songs and concert recordings. In 2026 he released the self-written and self-composed singles “Sajna” and “Baadal.”
