Mini bio

How it started.

Scott grew up near Boston and discovered Photoshop at 13. After working on leadership and organizational improvement at Goldman Sachs, he pursued an MBA and founded Behance with collaborators. The aim was to help creative people organize their work and take charge of their careers.

Building a creative community.

Action Method notebooks helped fund Behance before venture investment. Scott met designer and future co-founder Matias Corea while looking for a design partner. Early on, the team manually helped admired creatives put portfolios online. Adobe acquired Behance in 2012, opening a path for Scott to lead creative products at a much larger scale.

Sharing what he learns.

His books tackle the practical work behind creative ideas: Making Ideas Happen focuses on execution, while The Messy Middle explores enduring and improving the difficult stretch of a venture. Today, his Implications newsletter connects technology, culture, and product design, alongside his work at A24 Labs.
