How it started.
Scotty began working at his family’s Texaco station at 14, watching his grandfather Elmer repair cars. He later studied anthropology before choosing a life in the repair trade.
From the shop to the screen.
His used-car guide attracted newspaper coverage and an invitation to give advice on Houston’s KHOU. Crank It Up with Scotty brought his explanations of repairs to television viewers. He took that approach to YouTube in 2007.
