Mini bio

How it started.

Raised in Geneva, Senta studied cinema aesthetics and theory at the University of Lausanne before earning a photography master’s degree at ECAL in 2017. An internship with Olu Odukoya around 2013 helped develop their eye through research for Modern Matter.

The first book.

Rayon Vert grew from Senta’s graduate project and portraits of friends and acquaintances. Its self-published 2017 version reached the Paris Photo–Aperture First PhotoBook shortlist; Kominek published the book in 2018. That year brought a Swiss Design Award and a solo presentation at Foam in Amsterdam.

Still images, moving images.

Alongside fashion photography, which Senta has practised since 2018, personal projects keep opening new directions. Dissonance combined photographs, video and music around a Ukrainian dancer and an Irish harpist. The MEP presentation was their first solo exhibition at a French institution.

A shared way of looking.

In Blue Hour, Senta turned to photographing Leon Dame, their partner and collaborator. Made across New York and California, the project explores masculinity through affection, vulnerability and ordinary details. Dame also helped select and sequence the photographs.
