Mini bio
How it started.
Shipra grew up in Shimla and began cooking at nine. A home cook before television, Shipra turned that early interest into a career after winning MasterChef India season 2 in January 2012.
Recipes worth keeping.
The first cookbook, The Spice Route, brought together food travels and recipes cooked during MasterChef. The second, Sinfully Yours, focused on desserts. In 2024, Om Books published the ninth cookbook, Sinfully Yours: Just Desserts, with Indian sweets alongside vegan and gluten-free options.
Sharing the kitchen.
Shipra’s Kitchen brings recipes and cooking tips to YouTube. That teaching also reaches beyond the screen: on April 11, 2017, Shipra gave students at Le Cordon Bleu Paris a demonstration of Indian dishes, from chicken tandoori to moong dal halwa.
Food and travel.
In 2026, Shipra brought London and Spain to TLC viewers through World On My Plate. In Liverpool, a collaboration with Anahita Dhondy shaped White Tiger’s menus, with Shipra creating the Hakka Fire dishes and helping train the kitchen team.
