Mini bio
How it started.
Sophie started Fashion Slave while studying for her first degree in journalism at Cardiff. She went on to study fashion journalism at Central Saint Martins, then worked in online fashion copywriting. In her 2024 Mind Movers interview, she explained that the blog eventually earned more than her day job, giving her a reason to make content creation her full-time work.
Finding her voice.
Fashion Slave began with personal style, but Sophie found that opinion-led lifestyle posts especially connected with readers. Her 2014 year-end reflection recorded a Cosmo Blog Awards nomination and an internship at The Times during London Fashion Week. She marked the blog’s third birthday on 1 January 2016.

Her work brings together outfit ideas, fashion and cosmetics reviews, humour and candid writing. In 2024 she collaborated on a Labelrail capsule collection designed to work across seasons. More recently, her Substack has become a place for longer pieces about dating, social media and her experiences of beauty treatments, alongside fashion, lifestyle and Formula 1 content on social media.
