Sophie grew up in Ferndale in the Rhondda. She was studying business management at Cardiff University when she represented Wales at Miss World in 2012. After winning Miss Wales that April, she finished second at Miss World and received the Miss UK and Miss World Europe titles.

After modelling, Sophie moved into content creation. Her agency dates the start of her sustained audience growth to 2020. Practical outfit advice, especially help finding clothes that work for tall women, became a central part of her work.
