Mini bio

How it started.

The Stupendium, also known as Stupes, makes songs, videos and animation about games and pop culture. Their channel began in February 2016 with Amateur Wordsmith, a comic rap about their own rapping. Before the music videos became their focus, their video work included training material about insurance infrastructure and oil-rig safety.

Finding the keys.

Find the Keys, a 2017 song inspired by Bendy and the Ink Machine, became a turning point. In the description of its 2022 remaster, Stupes credits it with rescuing the channel and starting their YouTube career. Music, animation and character performance became the ingredients of their game-inspired storytelling.

Songs fans return to.

The Outer Worlds song The Fine Print became one of their signature works. Vending Machine of Love, written as the theme for OnlyCans, won the 2022 Logan Award for Outstanding Comedy Music Video. In 2023, they wrote and performed the official Game Theory song A Little Theorizing. They celebrated one million YouTube subscribers in 2024 by remaking Amateur Wordsmith.

Building new worlds.

In 2026, Stupes and game developer Alex Oxspring founded Stupendium Softworks, a self-funded independent studio in the UK. Their earlier collaborations included OnlyCans and Polyarmory, with Stupes providing the accompanying songs. The studio’s debut game, The Seventh Screening, is a survival horror project targeting 2028.
