How it started.
Heidi says she began Trendy With A Passport to share her love of travel and help readers see more countries on a limited budget. Blogging also gave her an outlet for photography and writing. She initially chose “Trendy” because she was unsure about using her real name.
From the classroom to the blog.
Based in Columbus, Ohio, Heidi has a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and a background in teaching and school administration. She grew up around her family’s house-building and renovation business. When readers responded to her own renovation and decor posts, the blog expanded into home, fashion and lifestyle.
A wider audience.
In July 2020, Entrepreneur included Heidi in its feature on ten women entrepreneurs, describing her as an educator and the founder of Trendy With A Passport. Her recent posts continue the blog’s practical focus, from Ohio overnight stays to Key West itineraries and affordable outfit edits.
