Mini bio
How it started.
Trevor began making videos in 2013. After graduating from UBC in Vancouver in 2014, he moved to Chengdu on a scholarship, studied Chinese and taught English to help pay for food and travel. Sichuan cooking was the reason he wanted to live there.
Building it together.
He met Ting in an Istanbul hostel in July 2015. They began working on the channel together, and their Chengdu market tours helped it grow. A trip filming food in Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Kerala brought another wave of viewers. Trevor later left his international trade studies, tried culinary school for one term and committed to YouTube full time.
Where food leads.
The Food Ranger follows local meals across borders, with Trevor tasting on camera and Ting helping make the videos. Their official biography lists Dubai as their base. Recent uploads return to regional Chinese food and take Ting to Bologna to compare Italian pasta with Chinese noodles and dumplings.
