Mini bio

How it started.

VALD comes from Aulnay-sous-Bois, just outside Paris. In a 2014 YARD interview, Valentin traced his discovery of rap to Kery James’s “Deux issues.” He started by filming a freestyle for fun, liked the result and kept recording. The mixtapes NQNTMQMQMB and Cours de Rattrapage preceded his 2014 EP NQNT.

The breakthrough.

“Bonjour” and “Selfie” helped bring his absurd humor to a wider audience in 2015, as he prepared NQNT 2. In an interview that year, he said Sexion d’Assaut had inspired him to make rap. That mix of jokes and deliberate musical choices became part of his identity.

An album career.

Agartha arrived in 2017, followed by XEU in 2018, Ce monde est cruel in 2019 and V in 2022. His collaborations include the joint album Horizon vertical with Heuss L’enfoiré, released in 2020.

The next chapter.

In 2025 he released PANDEMONIUM, joined Vladimir Cauchemar and Todiefor for PANDEMONIUM RELOADED, and unveiled MAGNIFICAT on the night of his Paris La Défense Arena show. The trio continued releasing music together in 2026. His “PROZACZOPIXAN” video also won Best Concept at the 2026 Berlin Music Video Awards.
