How it started.

Vanessa left a brand management job at L’Oréal in 2018 and began sharing the experience of leaving corporate life on YouTube. In a later interview, they explained that they wanted to make the kind of honest guidance they had struggled to find when weighing that decision.

Finding an audience.

An Instagram growth tutorial changed the direction of the channel. As viewers asked for more help, Vanessa moved toward social media coaching, opened a coaching business in January 2019 and launched The BOSSGRAM Academy that April to help new coaches turn followers into clients.

Starting over.

After building a course business, Vanessa stepped away because of burnout. In a July 2026 conversation marking one million YouTube subscribers, they talked about the difficult years after that decision and the work of rebuilding a sense of purpose.

A new daily ritual.

Vanessa and Leon co-founded Superboba after trying to find a milk tea they wanted to drink every day. Their founder letter describes almost two years of experimenting with the formula. Today, Vanessa’s videos bring fans into both content creation and the everyday work of building the brand.
