Mini bio

How it started.

VoicePlay grew out of school friendships in the Orlando area. Geoff Castellucci, Layne Stein and Earl Elkins Jr. began singing together in high school. The group performed as 4:2:Five before adopting the name VoicePlay in 2012. Work at local theme parks helped turn their shared love of harmony into a career.

Finding their audience.

Their appearance on season 4 of NBC’s The Sing-Off in 2013 introduced them to a national audience. On YouTube, they built a home for theatrical arrangements and collaborations, including the 2017 Moana medley with Rachel Potter. Their covers span Disney, pop and rock, with vocal percussion and low bass woven into the harmonies.

The group today.

The official lineup pairs Eli Jacobson and Cesar De La Rosa with baritone J.None, bass Geoff Castellucci and vocal percussionist Layne Stein. J.None returned as a full member in 2026. That year also brought Lore, a compilation connecting their seafaring and fantasy repertoire with the original song Into the Deep, featuring J.None and Lauren Paley.
