Mini bio
How it started.
Whindersson grew up in Bom Jesus, in the Brazilian state of Piauí. In a Trip interview, the creator recalled discovering the internet on a computer won by their mother at work, then making videos with a school friend while studying computing.
The breakout.
“Alô, Vó, Tô Reprovado” turned school worries into a musical parody that found a much bigger audience. Whindersson told Trip that the early success came before understanding how YouTube could earn money. In October 2016, the channel became Brazil’s largest by subscriber count, a milestone also recorded by Google.
Beyond the bedroom videos.
Stand-up became another home for those everyday stories. Marminino reached YouTube in 2016, followed by Netflix specials Adulto, É de Mim Mesmo and Isso não é um culto. Acting credits include Os Parças - A Série, alongside Tom Cavalcante, Tirullipa and Bruno De Luca.
Making room for music.
Whindersson also releases trap as Lil Whind and records under the name Whindersson Nunes. The 2025 album Se Eu Sofresse em 1985 brings together eight songs, while the Lucas Lucco collaboration “Quem É Você?” explores forgiveness and starting again.
