Mini bio

How it started.

Yasmine began blogging about her life while seeking therapy during college. Black women connected with her openness, and she wanted to build a space that gave something back to those readers. That became Transparent Black Girl.

Finding her community.

In her Inside Then Out interview, she recalled a positive affirmation meme bringing a sudden wave of followers. She used that attention to connect with therapists and trainers, then expanded her work through Transparent Black Guy and the Transparent & Black collective.

Care, online and in person.

Her work brings wellness conversations into everyday life. Alongside her writing, she has hosted community walks, dinners, movement classes and healing circles. Her journalism covers mental health, body positivity and the Black maternal mortality crisis.

A writer as well as a founder.

Her published work includes first-person essays for PS and xoNecole. Black Love also credits her as its managing editor in her 2022 author biography.
