How it started.
Aashna launched Beyond That Bouffant in November 2014. In an early interview, she recalled planning for six months before publishing her first post. Fashion, beauty and honest product reviews were part of the blog from the beginning. She wanted women of different sizes and backgrounds to have room to enjoy personal style.
Finding a community.
In her ABP Live interview, Aashna described how experimenting with clothes helped her build confidence after experiencing bullying. Sharing plus-size fashion connected her with people who recognised those experiences, and conversations about self-acceptance grew alongside the outfit posts.
A wider conversation.
Her work has brought her to interviews and podcasts about representation, confidence and the fashion industry. Cosmopolitan recognised her with its Popular Choice Body Love Influencer of the Year award in 2024. More recent interviews explore online scrutiny and the everyday experience of wearing swimwear without waiting for perfect confidence.
