The band years.
Fans first came to know Abdul Rehman Sajid through Auj, the band he fronted when it won Pepsi Battle of the Bands in 2019. Songs including Lafz, Aansu and Duhrao belong to that chapter. He told Geo.tv that the band’s creative goals had diverged and described his September 2024 departure as a mutual, professional decision.
Finding a solo voice.
His solo work was already taking shape before the departure: Abyss, featuring Hamza Ali, appeared on his own channel in November 2023, with writing, composition and performance credited to HAVI. His Spotify artist biography describes a sound drawing on pop, soul and qawwali-inspired expression.
A character inside the songs.
HAVI is also the protagonist of the stories he writes. In his HELLO! Pakistan interview, he connected Abyss, Moon and Saat Din as stages in that character’s emotional journey. He described live performance as a way to help listeners revisit their own experiences.
