Mini bio
How it started.
Ahmad grew up in Flint, cooking family meals and watching Food Network. While studying business, a summer internship in a Dubai hotel gave Ahmad experience in a professional kitchen. The Golden Balance launched in May 2020 with an aim that still runs through the recipes: help people feel comfortable cooking at home.
Food and belonging.
The Ramadan Chronicles helped viewers connect with Ahmad’s Muslim faith through food. The videos share meals for breaking the fast alongside family recipes and dishes from other cuisines. “Now Bismillah” became a familiar sign-off, and Ahmad’s father has appeared as a taste-tester.
Bringing it home.
In 2022, Ahmad won Chopped’s “Social Showdown” episode, earning $10,000 for charity. Golden Boys opened at Flint Farmers’ Market in 2026 so fans could finally taste the food in person. The next project is Now Bismillah, a debut cookbook of 100 recipes scheduled for March 23, 2027.
