Mini bio
How it started.
Alex traces the idea to shopping for a car in 2006. Online resources did not show him enough of the interior or explain how a vehicle compared with the segment’s best sellers. That frustration became the starting point for Alex on Autos.
From technology to cars.
Before building his automotive outlet, Alex worked in computer services as an IT manager, technical writer and technology planner. He also wrote car reviews for The Truth About Cars. His own 2015 milestone announcement reported 75,000 active subscribers and more than one million monthly views, evidence that his detailed approach had found an audience.
What fans come for.
His reviews make room for the practical details of ownership: seat comfort, luggage, child-seat fit, infotainment and comparisons with alternatives. The official site describes a channel dedicated to real-world shoppers and the cars they actually buy.
A growing team.
In 2023, Alex on Autos became Auto Buyers Guide to recognize the other people making the videos happen. The channel now introduces Alex and Travis together, while continuing to cover cars, trucks, SUVs and EVs in detail.
