Mini bio
A family kitchen.
Alfredo’s cooking began with the food his mother, grandmother and aunts made. Born in the Rio Grande Valley and raised in Chicago, he grew up with Mexican food at home and discovered other cuisines through Food Network, travel and social media.
Finding his audience.
Before becoming a full-time creator in 2021, he worked as a private chef for MLB players. On Making Room by Gather, he recalled trying a food blog around 2017 or 2018, then starting TikTok in spring 2020. His avocado jalapeño dip reached a wider audience when Cardi B made it herself.
From videos to a cookbook.
An email from editor Molly Ahuja in 2023 led to his first cookbook contract later that year. Let’s Make It! pairs familiar Mexican dishes with combinations such as kimchi pico de gallo and matcha tres leches cake. In June 2025 he began Lime After Lime to share recipes, travels and kitchen favorites directly with readers.
