Mini bio
How it started.
Ali Noor came out of Lahore with a legal education and a pull toward music. He and his younger brother Ali Hamza chose to build Noori together. Their songs urged young listeners to follow their abilities and think about what they could contribute to the people around them.
The breakout.
Noori’s debut album, Suno Ke Main Hun Jawan, arrived in 2003. Its mix of guitar music and lyrics about purpose helped the band find a devoted audience. Peeli Patti Aur Raja Jani Ki Gol Dunya followed in 2005; their third album, Begum Gul Bakaoli Sarfarosh, came in 2015 and won Album of the Year at the 2016 Lux Style Awards.
Beyond the band.
His work stretches from Noori’s Coke Studio collaboration Paar Chanaa De with Shilpa Rao to producing a cappella tracks for Strepsils Stereo. His solo project Pagal includes songs such as Teray Saath. In 2025, he released Aaghaz with Saad Sultan and Nijat Ali, while Noori released Nai Marna with Hamid Ali Naqeebi.
