Mini bio
How it started.
Alice grew up in rural Essex, learning to bake from her grandmother. After spinal surgery for scoliosis at 15 kept her from sport, she spent more time baking and making art. She later attended art school in New Zealand and trained as a geography teacher back in the UK.
Into the tent.
Alice entered The Great British Bake Off in 2019 as a reserve, with just 16 hours of notice before arriving. She reached the final and earned Star Baker twice, in Biscuit Week and the Pâtisserie semi-final. Her Save Our Oceans cake brought her love of decorative baking into the competition.
A creative career.
In 2020 she left geography teaching to pursue baking and content creation full time. Her work now connects recipes with illustration, including her Around the World series and The Art of Baking. She also sells art prints and serves as a Great Taste awards judge.
