Mini bio

How it started.

Before becoming a familiar voice in online business, Amy worked for Tony Robbins. She left in 2009 and began doing social media consulting for small businesses. In an early podcast transcript, she recalls discovering that working for several clients felt like having several bosses, which pushed her toward making her own training programs.

Finding her audience.

Her first course launch brought in $267, a beginning she still shares on her official biography. The Online Marketing Made Easy podcast followed in 2013, giving entrepreneurs a regular place to learn her approach to email lists, course creation and launches. Digital Course Academy first launched in January 2019.

Putting the lessons in a book.

Two Weeks Notice arrived in February 2023. It brings together her advice on leaving a job, choosing an online business idea and making a first offer. The book became a New York Times bestseller, and Amy narrated the audiobook herself.

What she is building now.

In September 2026, Amy explained that she had retired Digital Course Academy and moved into a coaching business. Her podcast, now called The Amy Porterfield Show, continues with listener questions and conversations about marketing, leadership and growing a business sustainably.
