Mini bio
How it started.
Andrei grew up in a family of circus performers from Russia. The family moved to the United States when Andrei was nine, after their father joined Cirque du Soleil. Before finance videos, there were playing cards: Andrei worked with theory11 and created the Genesis instructional series, beginning in 2009.
Cards on screen.
The cardistry career also led into film. In 2013, Andrei directed special features and iTunes Extras for Now You See Me, including lessons in basic cardistry. Andrei later served as lead cardistry consultant on Now You See Me 2 and spent two months in London helping train the cast.
A new subject.
After saving for years, Andrei left their day job in late 2018 and uploaded their first personal finance video in January 2019. The opening months brought no earnings, but the channel grew to 300,000 subscribers within its first year. Andrei’s own course site describes the approach as combining a love of magic and investing.
Beyond the main channel.
Andrei also co-hosted Don’t Sweat It with magician Jen Kramer, interviewing guests inside a sauna. The Zero To A Million course shares their approach to planning, filming, editing and building a YouTube audience.
