Mini bio

How it started.

Ann Marie grew up in Chicago and began singing as a child. On The Baller Alert Show, they recalled an uncle introducing them to a karaoke machine and Whitney Houston songs. Poetry, school talent shows and social media uploads helped turn that early interest into a career.

Finding an audience.

“Different” introduced their recorded music in 2015. The 2017 projects Ann Marie and Unfuckwitable followed, building a sound that draws on late 1990s and early 2000s R&B, with Aaliyah among their influences. “Secret,” featuring YK Osiris, became a chart breakthrough in 2019, reaching No. 22 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart.

Making the calls.

Pretty Psycho arrived in July 2019 through Interscope. By their 2023 Baller Alert interview, Ann Marie was releasing Tripolar 3 independently and spoke about enjoying control over decisions. Scorpiann followed in 2024, then GOATED in December 2025, with appearances from Big Boogie, Sonta and Ron E.
