Mini bio

How it started.

Born in Lahore and raised in Britain, Annie says she wanted to entertain from childhood and began her music career around 18. A melody she hummed at home became “Mahiya” after she connected with a music arranger. Its success in Pakistan led to a place on the soundtrack of the 2007 film Awarapan.

Pop across borders.

Annie grew up listening to the Spice Girls, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and boy bands including A1. She later recorded with A1 herself on “Just 3 Words.” Her collaborations also include the dancehall track “Boom Boom Danze” with Beenie Man and the Punjabi pop song “Tujhe Yaad Kiya” with Rishi Rich.

Beyond the songs.

Her early career also included modelling at L’Oréal Karachi Fashion Week, a Pepsi campaign and fundraising with the Red Cross for people affected by flooding in Pakistan. Music remained her preference: asked to choose between singing and modelling in a 2013 interview, she chose singing.

Returning to a favourite.

In 2023, she shared vocals with Tony Kakkar on “Shadi Karogi?” She has since revisited “Mahiya” with Farooq Got Audio and Freebird Records, alongside releases including “Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai” in 2025 and “Lahore Di Jugni” in 2026.
