Mini bio
How it started.
Before teaching online, Rob Jensen earned a BFA in industrial design at BYU and spent seven years designing cars for Ford. Back in Utah, drawing with his children gave him a way to return to art and share that time with other families.

In a BYU Magazine interview, Rob explained that his children’s school had discontinued its art program. He began lessons at home, then tried filming one alone. Bringing his kids into the frame made the lesson feel right. Viewers could see a child’s drawing beside an adult’s and feel comfortable making their own version.
Finding their art friends.
The family has made Art for Kids Hub since 2012. In January 2018, they thanked viewers after reaching one million YouTube subscribers over the holiday break. Their current official site lists more than ten million subscribers and over 3,000 drawing lessons.
From videos to books.
Rob, Teryn, Jack, Hadley, Austin, and Olivia are the family behind the channel. Their DK book series brings the same draw-together approach to paper, with Animals, Cute and Funny Foods, and Christmas in 2024, followed by Space, Halloween, and Dinosaurs in 2025. In October 2026, Rob and Olivia demonstrated their new drawing app.
