Mini bio
A childhood in the kitchen.
Betül grew up in Erzurum, Türkiye, and began baking at eight with a mother and sisters who loved to cook. Turkish cooking programmes and family feedback helped develop those skills.
Finding a community.
After moving to the United States and becoming a parent, Betül started Instagram on the encouragement of husband Sait. Food photography led to short baking videos. A chocolate babka video, with its satisfying dough punch, brought Turkuaz Kitchen to a much wider audience.
Recipes to keep.
The first cookbook, Turkuaz Kitchen, arrived on November 5, 2024 through Ten Speed Press. Its 85 recipes span breads, pastries, pasta and Turkish favorites. An Anthropologie homeware collaboration also launched in 2024. In November 2025, Betül confirmed work had started on a second cookbook.
