Mini bio
How it started.
Born in Cagayan in the Philippines, Bretman moved to Hawaii at seven. Their grandmother Lilang was an early beauty inspiration: Bretman watched her get ready for church and remembers her blush and Revlon lipsticks. Family acceptance helped shape the confidence fans recognize today.
Finding an audience.
Bretman built an audience through funny videos and makeup, with a contouring video going viral in 2015. That mix of humor and beauty opened the door to a wider career. MTV’s Following: Bretman Rock brought their friendships and family life in Hawaii to YouTube in 2021, while YouTube Originals’ 30 Days with: Bretman Rock took them into the jungle.
More of the story.
The 2023 essay collection You’re That Bitch shares stories about identity, queerness and Filipino heritage. In 2024 Bretman added DaBaddest Radio, a Dear Media podcast built around personal stories and conversations. Fashion shoots, workouts and family moments sit alongside beauty in their work.
