Mini bio
A one-way ticket.
Brooke grew up in Tasmania and started World of Wanderlust in December 2012. After university, a one-way ticket to London became a year of travel and a blog built around helping others explore solo. Their travel book, World of Wanderlust, followed in October 2016.
From travel to the kitchen.
Trips to Paris helped turn an interest in patisserie into a new direction. Brooke opened Brooki Bakehouse in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, in May 2022. On their personal site, Brooke recalls a quiet first eight months before a TikTok day-in-the-life video brought queues to the bakery.
Baking with the audience.
Behind-the-scenes bakery videos became a new way to share daily life. Bake with Brooki arrived in October 2024, bringing cookies, brownies, cakes and more into readers’ kitchens. The cookbook earned a 2025 ABIA shortlist place, and Brooke has since been expanding the bakery business internationally.
