Mini bio
How it started.
Originally from Stamford, Connecticut, Owens worked outside media before finding an audience with conservative videos in 2017. In a PragerU brochure, she recalled posting “Mom, Dad, I’m a Conservative” and attracting attention from PragerU and Turning Point USA.
From videos to longer conversations.
Her Red Pill Black videos helped establish her public profile. She worked at Turning Point USA from 2017 to 2019 and co-founded the BLEXIT Foundation in 2018. The Candace Owens Show premiered at PragerU in March 2019 with Roseanne Barr as its first guest.
Books and documentary work.
Her first book, Blackout, arrived in September 2020 with an introduction by Larry Elder. She later hosted and narrated the 2023 true-crime series Convicting a Murderer, revisiting the Steven Avery case. Make Him a Sandwich focuses on her views of women and feminism.
Going independent.
After hosting Candace at The Daily Wire, Owens left the company in March 2024 and relaunched independently that year. Her own site combines the podcast with subscriber videos and a book club. Her work has also drawn criticism for conspiracy theories, including false claims about Brigitte Macron that led to a 2025 defamation lawsuit.
