Mini bio

How it started.

Carl built his career around men’s fashion and everyday lifestyle advice. His agency dates his start in the industry to 2015, and GQ South Africa identifies his early blog as In My Shoes. London became the base for his work in style, grooming and travel.

Finding his voice.

His 2017 coming-out video, Coming Out The Real Me, brought a more personal side of his life to his audience. Attitude reported that the video had gone viral. Carl explained that he wanted to use his platforms to help other people feel able to be themselves.

Style with a familiar co-star.

Alongside fashion and grooming, Carl’s YouTube work includes outfit shorts with his chow chow, Carter. His 2023 video Who wore it best? puts that pairing front and centre. He also wrote Carter Chow Chow: The Little Dog Who Dreamed Big, a 2024 children’s book illustrated by Karn Parkrada about kindness, courage and friendship.

Beyond the outfit.

His commercial work includes SocialChain’s Montblanc Explorer Platinum campaign. In a 2021 GQ interview, Carl described exercise as a way to build confidence and support his mental health. In 2026, he discussed personal style with Ellis Ranson on Talk in Wardrobe and introduced puppy Paddington on his own channel.
