How it started.
Cheryl’s route into skincare began with personal experience of adult acne. On the Honesty For Your Skin about page, Cheryl recalls struggling with confidence while working at a FTSE 100 company in 2012, then reading research and training as a cosmetic formulator.
From the lab to the blog.
Before building Honesty For Your Skin, Cheryl worked as a research and development scientist and project manager. In a personal blog post about leaving that job, Cheryl describes wanting to help readers understand ingredients and choose products with more confidence.
An early milestone.
Honesty began as a skincare range. Its Protect Nourishing Cleanse Balm won the 2017 FreeFrom Achievement Award. Cheryl later told Authority Magazine that the business had evolved toward one-to-one coaching and online video courses.

Today, Honesty For Your Skin brings together the Acne Warrior course, the virtual Acne Clinic and free articles and videos. Recent posts cover hormonal acne, ingredient comparisons and client experiences, continuing Cheryl’s focus on making skincare easier to understand.
