Mini bio
How it started.
Chetna grew up in Jabalpur watching her mother cook fresh meals from scratch. She trained in fashion design at NIFT in Mumbai and worked there before moving to the UK. Cooking recipes from home helped her find the flavours she missed; after having children, baking became a creative outlet.
Into the tent.
Her Indian-inspired bakes took her to the semi-final of The Great British Bake Off in 2014. Chetna says the experience gave her confidence to try new flavour combinations. Her first cookbook, The Cardamom Trail, followed in 2016.
Food to make at home.
Her books range from Indian street food to vegetarian meals, quick dinners and baking. Food with Chetna brings that cooking to video, while Between the Slices turns everyday ingredients into sandwiches. The Part One ebook collects the first 20 sandwich recipes, with pictures and video links.
