Mini bio
How it started.
Claire started a circular fashion label at 18 and later worked in fashion events and PR. In 2014, they founded The Fashion Advocate as a blog, then expanded into a print magazine and ethical fashion retail.
Building a community.
The Fashion Advocate grew through online retail, sustainable fashion runways and two Melbourne shops. Its mix of storytelling and support for independent labels earned a 2019 Good Design Award in fashion.
Passing it on.
Claire later moved the platform towards education and mentoring for independent fashion founders. Their work now includes business workshops, sustainability writing and Dotti, a project intended to help creative founders understand their business data.
