Mini bio
How it started.
A family financial setback during college made saving personal for Clark. He worked while studying, later joined IBM, and opened Action Travel in 1981. Selling the successful agency let him retire at 31.
Finding his audience.
Travel advice brought him onto Atlanta radio as a guest in 1987. WGST gave him Cover Your Assets in 1989; he moved to WSB in 1991, and The Clark Howard Show entered national syndication in 1998.
Where fans find him now.
His podcast pairs consumer news with listener questions brought by Christa DiBiase. In the recurring Clark Stinks segment, fans get to challenge his advice. His books take the same practical approach: Living Large in Lean Times became a number-one New York Times bestseller, followed by Living Large for the Long Haul.
