Mini bio
How it started.
A Houston native, Dede began Dress Up Buttercup in 2015 after losing a marketing job in oil and gas. She kept posting even when the audience was mostly friends and family. In The Newsette, she credited trips and sharing platforms with fellow bloggers with helping her reach more people.
Growing together.
Outfit ideas grew into conversations about motherhood, postpartum life and grief. Her community’s giving became ButterTogether, and the DUB Spooky 5K supports breast cancer research in memory of her mother, Eva. She also hosted Build Up Buttercup, a small-business pitch program that brought investment to Poppy Kids Co.
A new name.
In January 2024, Dede announced that she was retiring the Dress Up Buttercup name and posting as Dede Raad. Connecting with women remained central to her work. Her collaborations include Electric Picks jewelry and a 2023 Vince Camuto footwear collection.
