How it started.
Before the videos, Dhar was rebuilding. On the official About page, Dhar describes being broke and struggling to find direction at 30. A small cosmetics business followed in 2015, then a partnership with Laura in 2016. In 2018, Dhar began making videos with the aim of helping people facing hard times.
Finding the audience.
Dhar dates the videos’ growing traction to 2020 and the opening of a Burbank studio to 2021. Short scripted dramas became the signature: familiar conflicts with lessons about kindness, compassion and integrity. Fans also got recurring characters and series such as Jay & Mikey, which began in June 2023.
Why these stories matter.
In YouTube’s AAPI Gala interview, Dhar described rarely seeing people with a similar background in mainstream media while growing up. That experience helped shape an approach to storytelling that aims to make people from different backgrounds feel included and respected.
The next chapter.
The work now spans scripted television and interviews. Dhar writes and executive produces Unlikely Romances for Samsung TV Plus and hosts What Happens Next, a podcast about the experiences and setbacks that shape people’s lives. In 2026, the studio also announced production partnerships with Fox and Disney.
