Mini bio

How it started.

Leslie grew up in the San Fernando Valley and studied at Cal State Northridge. After an unsuccessful medical school application, she completed two master’s degrees before applying again. Feeling isolated in medical training helped inspire Latinx en Medicina, a community connecting people in healthcare.

Making room for others.

As students asked her for guidance online, she wanted a community that could connect them with one another. She also brought conversations about the first-generation experience and mental health to TikTok, sharing what she had learned from seeking support herself.

Health in two languages.

Her work spans vaccination, preventive care and health misinformation in English and Spanish. Vaccinate Your Family lists her as a voting board member. TikTok recognized her with a Latinx Creatives Grant in 2022 and a place in its 2025 Change Makers cohort.
