Mini bio
A creative outlet.
Emma started EJ Style in October 2008 while working full time as a retail manager. The blog gave Emma somewhere to share personal style and opinions on fashion. In August 2013, Emma left retail to build it into a business.
Finding an audience.
In a 2016 Q&A, Emma traced the blog’s growth to going full time, regular posting, photography, coverage in LOOK magazine and Instagram regrams. The early idea was practical: making high-street clothes look polished through styling, with designer pieces later joining the mix.
A shared business.
Emma’s husband Simon became an equal business partner in June 2017, handling photography, filming and editing. Video content began that same month. In November 2018, EJ Style became Emma Hill, bringing outfits and videos together under Emma’s own name.
Beyond daily outfits.
The work now includes wardrobe advice, clothing try-ons and home renovation videos. Emma has also collaborated with The Curated on the Modern Blazer, a lapel-free design.
