Mini bio

How it started.

Erin grew up baking with her mother and grandmother in Lawrence, Kansas. At 16, she took an after-school bakery job. She later studied baking and pastry at The Culinary Institute of America, started a blog, and pitched her writing.

From behind the scenes to your kitchen.

After graduation, she tested recipes, did editorial work, and ghostwrote for cookbooks and culinary textbooks. Her teaching reached viewers through Food52’s Bake It Up a Notch, which won an IACP award in 2021.

Books, videos, and a little encouragement.

The Fearless Baker arrived in 2017, followed by The Book on Pie in 2020 and Savory Baking in 2022. In 2023, she coached contestants on Netflix’s The Big Nailed It Baking Challenge. She now hosts Happy Baking and teaches classes. Her fourth cookbook, Bake Anything, arrived in September 2026 with recipes readers can combine and videos they can follow.
