Mini bio
How it started.
Food was part of Giada’s family life long before television. Born in Rome, she spent time in the family kitchen and at her grandfather Dino De Laurentiis’s restaurant, DDL Foodshow. After studying anthropology at UCLA, she trained in cuisine and pastry at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris.
Finding her audience.
Back in Los Angeles, she worked at restaurants including Spago and founded the catering company GDL Foods. A Food & Wine article about the De Laurentiis family caught a Food Network executive’s attention. Everyday Italian became her television breakout in 2003.
More ways to share Italy.
Giada built on that start with shows including Giada at Home and Giada Entertains, cookbooks and restaurants. Through Giadzy, she shares recipes and travel ideas alongside Italian pantry products. Her 2025 cookbook Super-Italian brings that interest in ingredients into everyday meals.
