How it started.
Graeme began his Instagram feed in 2016 to share recipes. In the introduction to his first book, he describes changing direction in March 2018 after becoming frustrated with the fitness and diet industry, turning to posts about dieting myths and pitfalls.
Finding his audience.
The Fitness Chef grew out of work Graeme did alongside personal training. His side-by-side food graphics made nutrition comparisons easy to follow. In his 2022 Food Matters Live interview, he recalled building an audience of around 30,000 before the account took off; by the interview he had passed a million followers.
From posts to books.
His first book, Eat What You Like & Lose Weight For Life, arrived in December 2019. Still Tasty followed in 2021 with 100 reduced-calorie versions of favourite meals. His third book, Lose Weight Without Losing Your Mind, was published in 2022 and became a Sunday Times bestseller.
What fans find today.
Graeme continues to make food-comparison videos and share recipes under The Fitness Chef name. He also founded The Fitness Chef app, which brings food logging, recipes and fitness tracking together around his flexible approach to eating.
