Mini bio
Before the videos.
Han began her career teaching pre-K special education in a Title 1 school through Teach For America. She went on to earn her doctorate at the University of Texas at Austin and teach there as an adjunct professor. In 2020, she and fellow psychologist Annie Farmer founded Pivot Psychology Austin.
Finding her voice online.
She began making TikToks in October 2020, looking for a creative outlet during lockdown. She saw plenty of general mental health advice, but less discussion of the systems and identities that shape people’s lives. Drawing on her work with Asian Americans, children of immigrants and other people of color, she built an audience around culturally informed mental health and liberation psychology.
From short videos to a book.
Her public work expanded to the TEDxKoenigLane stage in 2022, where she explored shame, guilt and racial justice. In 2026 she published The Hyphenated Life, a guide to navigating intersecting identities. She told Mochi Magazine that her early aim online was to reach people who could not access therapy; she also found a community of fellow clinicians through her content.
